Since
posting this message, I have discovered what I think may be the source of the
problem. The messages in question apparently have attachments containing a
virus. The server is also running Norton Anti-Virus and it is detecting the
presence of the virus in the spool file, then locking the file so that the Imail

IMAP process fails to deliver the attachment.

As for what to do about this, I'm not sure yet. NAV provides options for
handling viruses and I currently have it set to "repair automatically".. In
this case the message from NAV says that the file can't be repaired, so I'm
assuming that is the reason that NAV locks the file, to prevent propogation of
the virus. There are other options, but they might let the file pass, in which
case the virus would be passed to the user and might cause bad things to happen
later.

Anyone have thoughts on this?
