I ran into a similar problem in using LDAPER to add the information for users, the CN
did not add. Here's what I did to get it to display:
1. Click on the Users folder in the Administrator
2. Make a change to the Global User Changes and apply
3. The CN values shows up in LDAP.

I'm not user it had to be Global User Change as there are things in that tab that, for
us, we can change globally. If you can't change them globally, maybe try another item
on the Default User Setting page.

____________________________________________________________ If i enter a new user in
the web interface of imail 6.04, the field "cn:" in the ldap Attributes is not filled.
Outlook 98 and Outlook 2000 use this field for display of the name if you sort the
ldap query window to "by name". If i enter the user from the IMail console on the
server, the field is filled and the display in the ldap client of Outlook is right.
