I tried to install again, making sure that the user that I was using for my
DSN had full permissions to the database. I still have an empty database,
no tables are created. Is there a way to force iMail to create the tables
that it needs with the appropriate structure?
Thanks for your help.

Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] External Database Problem
Imail will create its own tables under the format domain_TLD (com,
net, org whatever). So domain.com would be a table domain_com,
domain.net would be a table domain_net
If you do not specify a database for imail to use it will create
the tables in the "master" database when using sql.
Make sure you created a system and not a user DSN. You must
configure each virtual server to use your dsn (configure tab).
also be sure to create a user on your database system with full
create table, read, write rights (may also have to own not sure.
On sql 7 create a login, then give that login permssions to use
the database you created for imail.
Use sql authentication not NT (some have had probelms with NT only
authentication)
The obdc config in imail will look something like this...
DSN;uid=User;pwd=password;db=databasename
in your case:
iMail;uid=???;pwd=???;db=iMail
or
iMail;uid=???;pwd=???;db=iMail_Data
somethimes sql 7 eval adds the _Data on the name sometimes not,
the .MDB is not needed
hope this helps
