The time sent is the local time, whereas the time in the header of a mail is GMT. It shows also the offset to the local time of the mailserver. This is because mailservers are around the world in different timezones.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Time Stamp Wrong

Hi All:

How do I fix an apparent difference between the time sent at the top of an eMail and the time in the header shown using properties?  Anyone experienced this before?
