Sorry to add to the OT, but there is one other annoying little thing about
detailed error messages, In the newer versions of IE the browser can
actually take your detailed error messages and convert them to it's
"friendly error message" version.

While debugging some really nasty ASPs all I would get under IE was a pretty
500 Internal Server Error page, but Netscape showed me the actual "detailed"
error message generated by IIS5.

There is a setting under the advanced tab in Internet Options that is by
default set to "Show friendly HTTP error messages".

I haven't had to move anything out of the common errors directory for IIS5
to show detailed errors, in fact, the errors (as far as ASP go anyway) seem
to be a lot more intuitive.

OK now back to IMail!

You have to copy the file 500-100.asp from the common errors directory to
each web (or a common web) and then set that url on the custom errors tab
in the mmc for each virtual web. Or at least that's how I do it.

Not very well documented is an understatement on this one.

Sorry for the deviation, but I was thinking that many of this list's
members might have some suggestions.

I'm looking for a way to get IIS 5 to output detailed error messages in the
same fashion that IIS 4 did. The MS KB has nothing, none of the "bound"
documentation is of any value in this case. If someone would point me to a
news group or forum that might be useful, I'd certainly appreciate it.
