Ron,
        You might want to make sure that in the DSN line where you tell
Imail which external database to use, you include the userid and password
using the following format:

dsnname;UID=username;PWD=password

        This is not well documented, but it was necessary to get my external
working with SQL 7.0.  I'm assuming here that you are using SQL
authentication and not NT domain.
