Whois Server (definition)
The Whois server lets a Whois client look up information about IMail Server
users. Whois information can include the user's full name, mailing address,
telephone number, and a network mailbox. When the Whois server receives a
lookup request about a particular user, it will send the information about
the user that it finds in the IMail database.
As for the path, I believe that is 'old' information and no longer accurate.
Whois uses the info IMail stores in the registry (full name and account
name) about the users. Looks like email address is a combination of the
'account name' + "@' + 'Official Host Name', not the 'Return Address' as
found in the registry.
