Jared - I suppose it should be possible - but I agree, IMail does not offer
a decent API to achieve that easily. It forces developers through a lot of
hoola-hoops (e.g., CLIENT side JavaScript, YIKES!) to get basically what you
are asking for:
- you need to know how to create an HTTP POST header with the login
information, this will get you past the Logon screen. Or, you could set a
cookie and then modify the templates to retrieve the cookie.
- you also need to set a cookie pointing to a specific function/screen
within Imail's web interface, if you really want to go straight to the
'compose' screen.
- once you are logged in, you need to modify your main menu template to read
the previously set cookie and then redirect the browser to the desired URL.
Overall, Imail's web service may NOT be the right tool if you are looking
for that kind of tight integration. Your alternative is, to use Imail for
SMTP, POP, IMAP services and use one of the existing POP ActiveX components
and write your OWN web interface to Imail.
