The original question was about Web MSG only, not other services! It is the
only one with a hard limit.
The article says there are 'no limits' on the number of connections (except
for WEB MSG)! So, you could have 500 SMTP and 500 Web and 500 POP3 all at
same time. This might cause some performance issues to surface, but IMail
will work. I've not seen SMTP have more than about 20-40 concurrent
sessions, unless there was some other program slowing the system (Virus
Scanner or a problem releasing resources!), even with thousands of users and
during the peak hours of the day.
I don't think one can just add up the number of connections via each
protocol as each has differing amounts of overhead and need for resources.
You won't 'hit' any limit as you suggest, but you might see performance
begin to degrade, once you reach that value.
