a) you could write a WSCRIPT that reads the IIS metabase and sorts the
output.

b) if you have a Windows 2000 machine, then use THEIR administrative tools.
The IIS MMC in W2K can connect to a NT4 server - and it DOES offer sorting.
I use that method to administer several IIS machines from my W2K/Pro
desktop.

c) the NT4 IIS at LEAST allows you to click on the first item in your
virtual server list and then press the FIRST letter of the domain you are
trying to find.  Example: By pressing "R" repeatedly you selection jumps to
any virtual servers that start with an "R"
