> Is anyone using an AntiVirus Program with IMail Server?
Yes, we are.
> If so, which anitvirus program would you recomend?
Since my company makes it, I could be somewhat biased. But, we are using
our Declude Virus software in conjuction with a standard off-the-shelf
antivirus program. Our program takes care of the behind-the-scenes details
required to let the standard antivirus programs scan file attachments (and
non-attachments that viruses/worms can spread in, such as HTML MIME
segments).
The other option is to run an SMTP-based virus scanner. Essentially, you
are buying a new mail server that you put in front of IMail. This generic
mail server scan the incoming mail. NAI/McAfee (still can't figure out
which!) has WebShield SMTP, there's also Trend Micro, NAVIEG, Sophos, and
others. A couple things to check for: First, make sure that the company
has made a decent mail server (some are better than others). Also make sure
that you don't have to choose between running an open relay or letting some
viruses slip through (again, some are better than others at this).
