A lot depends on the type of problem. The easiest way is to check your logs
and send 'em the lines that say the E-mail was received and accepted by the
remote server.
If they are having DNS problems, you can use nslookup to find out, or Sam
Spade, or DNS Expert. We're going to be put some tools on our web page to
help as well. When that happens, make sure to send E-mail to the DNS
contact (in the SOA record), [EMAIL PROTECTED], and then the
Whois contacts if necessary.
Other tools/tricks depend on the type of situation. Looking at the headers
of a mail that was received a long time after it was sent should help
determine where the delay was, for example.
