Subject: [IMail Forum] question mail relay
Hi all,
my situation: I want to configure some mail relay restriction, but I have
two different groups of users:
The first group uses different dialin-accounts from different ISPs. So they
have again and again different IP-Addresses.
The second group have their own mailserver with static IP-Adresses, but the
server is not connected all the time to the Internet (dialin). So my
mailserver is configured as the backup mail-server (store and forward)
now the problem:
-"relay for anyone" as known will work not only for my two groups but also
for spamers.
-"relay for addresses" will work for the first group when I configure all
the mailclients with "SMTP Athentication". But now when there is a mail to
store and forward it to a dialin-mailserver my mailserver responds with the
error "550 not local host elektrostudio.com, not a gateway"
-"relay for localhosts only" will work for the first group, but for the
second group my mailserver responds with the same error "550 not local host
elektrostudio.com, not a gateway" even if configured in the file accept.txt.
This only when the mail comes from an not local mail-account (an other mail
server). When i try to send a message from a local mail-account (first
group) to the store-and-forward-domain (second group) the mailserver accepts
the message.
question: can someone help me to resolve this problem? Or is there no way to
resolve it? (I've read the help file and the concerned KB-articles.)
thanks a lot!
Markus
