Tim,
I don't know who you talked to at Ipswitch, but none of what you have stated
(or heard!) is correct nor is it the 'Official' word of Ipswitch. I have
helped people move user directories to other drives and folders, many, many
times, all with success. And some even had different drives for each domain.
All one need do is change the 'Top Directory' for that domain, then move the
existing folders to that new location. When you change the Top Dir, IMail
even tells you what you need to do, in a popup window after the change! This
is so easy and done so often, that I am sure it works! It could even be
considered one of the best features of IMail! It is so easy to move folders
and even whole domains to other servers!
True, there is no individual 'top dir' in the registry, for each user, so
IMail uses that one defined in that Domains key. And that change now applies
to _all the users_ of that domain. So again, I say, that you have some other
domain, that is using the folder in which the 'old' users folders are being
created. Once that is 'fixed' all will be well.
Since email here in the Forum has not worked and apparently you got some
less knowledgable Support Technician, on the phone, you can either listen to
me (or others who have done this!), or call Ipswitch and ask for a Senior
IMail Support person.
