there is a font in outlook that will give this output to non outlook
programs.  It may have been a valid recipient.  The user unknowingly could
have used this font not knowing it would turn out garbage on any other
program or recipient not using a version of outlook later than '97.  I know
this can happen but without knowing the sender there is no way to prove it.
