I setup my OHN originally as mail.stat.com with the alias stat.com
.... when I realized that mail from mailing lists would be generate
with the mail.stat.com instead of stat.com I reversed it so my OHN is
now stat.com and alias is now mail.stat.com
I have my DNS setup so my mx records show mail.stat.com as 10,
secondary mx etc.
If I setup stat.com with an A record, then doesn't this bypass the MX
records for backup and defeat it?
I have my A record as mail.stat.com for the IP
but the reverse IP as stat.com
Since I've used machines before that the machine name ie mail.stat.com
was basically everything, but the mail got generated out under what
ever name you wanted. So now I'm not sure if I have my DNS setup
properly even though everything seems to be working.
