Alan,

Since you mentioned 'gateway', I just have to ask this question.
What do you have in the Gateway field in the IMail SMTP tab? This
field is _not_ your router, but another mail server, so it should be
an empty setting.

Your IMail server should be using the internal networks IP
addresses. At least the Primary IP (that assigned to the first NIC)
should also be listed in the HOSTS file with the complete
machine.domain.name, as found in the TCPIP settings (NT4, Host and
Domain Name settings).
