There is no limit on the number of user accounts IMail can have (unless you
have a 250 user version). It does not make any difference which database is
used.

However, practical limits might have some effect. For example, some people
using Access as the database, begin to have problems when they have a few
hundres to a few thousands users (Access is not quite as robust or intended
to support large DBs as say SQL). I have heard of the IMail DB having in
excess of 180,000 users without any troubles.

What hardware are you asking about, the mail server or the DB server? Are yo
planning on running both on the same machine, or different ones? Lots of
questions like these will affect your final configuration. Even something
like 'How much money do you have to spend?' will have effects.
