because lyris costs me $2500 a month ... imail costs nothing but
bandwidth...
can you recommend another solution?

WHY, why, why, would you abandon Lyris List Manager in favor of Imail for
list server features? The list server is a very weak point in Imail, and
the features are dwarfed by Lyris.
Imail is a viable mail server for NT, but not a viable list server.
