Yes Active Directory is in native mode.

Are you using active directory in native mode? If so I mail might not
support it yet.
With active direcotry you can have multiple Domain controllers (DC) and it
is reccommended, the old PDC BDC modle no longer exists. Except in Active
directory Mixed mode the first DC you install emulates the PDC.

In fact it's best to have at least 2... One is the primary (PDC) and the
other(s) is(are) backups (BDC). They autoreplicate so that if the primary
goes down, authentication doesn't stop... if its a long term thing, you can
promote the BDC to a PDC and that way you don't loose any authentication or
trust relationship info.
