We have an NT machine with 4 Internet IP's bound to one NIC card. The
machine also has another card with an internal address. The two domains
this machine hosts are "tbri.com" and "tectrak.com". The IMail server has
been our tbri.com mail server for quite a while (and working perfectly!). I
now want to have a tectrak.com mail server, but not with IMail on this
machine, it is on another machine, running SendMail. I have set up the DNS
(A and MX) entries to point to this new server - mail.tectrak.com, but mail
is not getting there. Mail to tectrak.com is hitting the tbri.com IMail
server and giving the following error:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
(reason: 550 not local host tectrak.com, not a gateway)
The NSLOOKUP entries for both MX servers is below:
> tbri.com
tbri.com preference = 10, mail exchanger = mail.tbri.com
tbri.com preference = 20, mail exchanger = mail2.vitts.com
tbri.com nameserver = ns1.vitts.com
tbri.com nameserver = ns2.vitts.com
mail.tbri.com internet address = 216.64.87.59
mail2.vitts.com internet address = 216.64.31.76
ns1.vitts.com internet address = 216.64.31.76
ns2.vitts.com internet address = 216.64.117.21
> tectrak.com
tectrak.com preference = 10, mail exchanger = mail.tectrak.com
tectrak.com nameserver = ns1.vitts.com
tectrak.com nameserver = ns2.vitts.com
mail.tectrak.com internet address = 216.64.87.61
ns1.vitts.com internet address = 216.64.31.76
ns2.vitts.com internet address = 216.64.117.21
When I telnet to mail.tectrak.com, I get the IMail @ tbri.com login
prompt. How can I stop IMail from "listening" for the domain tectrak.com
mail? Thanks for your help!
