In the last couple of days our mail server has periodically
stopped receiving mail. All of our users can send mail fine, but
no mail comes in and no undeliverable responses are going back to
the people that sent them. The messages just disappear. After I
reboot everything starts working again for a little while.

When it does happen, the CPU usage is not through the roof, but
there are usually about 7 or 8 SMTP32.exe processes running. I
used the kill file in the NT Resource Kit and killed all of the
running processes and that did not fix it either. I also tried
stopping and starting each the SMTP and POP3 services which also
didn't work.

I am running v6.5 and installed the latest patch two days after
this started and had no effect. Does anyone have any ideas what
might be happening?

Thanks, Charles
