Presently, i have my system setup for relay for a few specific ip's relating to my internal machines. I am beginning to offer dialup service through a wholesale arrangement. I want to be able to let my dialup users access email from a standard email client like outlook express. I have a list of the ip addresses used in the modem pool for dialup accounts. From my understanding, i need to add these to the list of acceptable machines. Is there anything further that can be done to help prevent smtp abuse from non-customers. I am concerned because as a rebiller of UUNET services, a zillion people will be using those same IP's. This does not give me much comfort. Looking for any advices at all. Specific questions: (1) Is anyone doing this? (2) Is imail going to have a heart attack if i enter a hundred ip ranges. (3) Are there other steps I can take to help prevent abuse by non- customers using the same generic UUNET ip pool? Any and all comments appreciated.
