This side effect was unknown to me until today.  I simply assumed that
saving a message in a "Draft" folder was a strictly "client-side" process
and was not spawning an SMTP transaction (which explains the unwanted side
effect of anyone on a user's forward list getting drafts of unsent e-mails.)

Ipswitch: I realize that fixing this would probably require a major rewrite,
but I think that the aforementioned side effect should at least be included
in the manual and the knowledge base (preferably in red)!
