Salvatore,
Unfortunately there are not many 'clues' in your email, so I don't have any
quick solution for you. Mostly a lot of questions about the IMail server,
its configuration and that of the list.
First, find the Aliases for this domain and locate the one named 'imailsrv'
it should be a 'program' alias and the 'resolves to' should look something
like: imailsrv dcubed.lex.ipswitch.com, where the hostname used by IMail, is
shown there (you can see my hostname in the sample). If this is not true,
then it is highly likely something changed in the IMail configuration and
that needs to be fixed. While in the Aliases, you should see 1 alias with
the name of the List, another with 'owner-' in front of the name, and a
third with '-owner' at the end of the name. The list named alias should also
resolve to a program alias and is defined as: imailsrv
dcubed.lex.ipswitch.com 602list, like the imailsrv alias, but followed by
the name of the list (this one is named '602list' and that is the alias
name, too). The '-owner' alias should resolve to the email address of the
list owner (as seen in the list settings and be a complete email address).
The same is true for the 'owner-' alias.
I have seen instances where the first list created in a domain, did not
work, even though all configuration appeared to be correct. This was always
fixed by deleting that list and recreating it. Maybe this is true for you?
Worth a try, assuming the list has never been 'used' or just does not seem
to be functioning. I'd also remove the one you just created.
As for time to send to 1000 addresses, that is quite dependant on many
things, like your connection speed, the size of the email message, DNS
lookup times, and even the time it takes for the remote SMTP servers to
accept the connection. This IMail Forum has several thousand subscribers and
it handles dozens of messages for the list (and several other lists, one
with many, many thousands of subscribers). If you just joined, you are at
the end of the list, so the time it takes to get your own message from the
list, is a rough idea about how long it takes to deliver to over 3000
addresses.
BTW, for 1000 addresses in the list, I'd make the 'number of recpients' (on
of the List settings!) between 50 and 200 (or greater, not to exceed 2000).
This will limit the number of files in the queue, so other email will get
handled in a rapid manner.
