Bah...that was it. I even checked that last night, but got confused by
the "system account" and assumed that would work. Thanks for the help!

Jeff,
Make sure that IMail's services are running as user accounts with
permissions on the SQL box.

Subject: [IMail Forum] IMail w/ SQL 6.5 DB not allowing login
I've just spent the past few hours trying to make the switch to IMail
and ran into a bit of a problem.
I have a view from SQL Server 6.5 as my external database, and this
exact setup was working great when I was using a test box. Now that I
need things to go smoothly, I can't log in with Outlook Express (the
only mail client I've tried, and the most common on our network.) I've
tried for multiple accounts, and always get a bad username/password. I
have verified that these users exist, and triple-checked their password.
I see that other users using an IMail database are logging in, so it's
not a system-wide problem.
We're using v6.02 of IMail, about 1500 users.
I have to call it a night, but will be back early to try and tame this
beast.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Jeff Underwood
