N.B. Nowadays the preference is to think "classless" and just specify
the prefix length, e.g. /24.

Sure, you can have multiple IP addresses on one or more NICs.  Keep in
mind that you'll raise routing issues if a host on one subnet needs to
communicate with a host on the other.

If your current subnet consists of private addresses why not just
expand to a /23 or larger?
