Jeff,
This forum runs on an IMail List Server and has thousands of members. I
won't say we have never encountered a problem, but they have generally been
few and far between. Actually the computer running this forum also has the
WUG and WSFTP (not so busy as IMail) forums and one more that has 30
thousand members. Not too bad for a 'free' list server. I too wish it had
better bounce management as this can be a chore that takes hours to
accomplish and must be performed on a regular basis (weekly, at least, in my
experience).
Often List problems are configuration related, especially during the initial
setup and testing, but once those problems are resolved, you should have few
troubles with such a small number of members.
I have to say, I too, set up one of my first lists with the owner name the
same as the list name. It seemed like the 'easy' way to do it, but as we
often learn, easy is not very often, the best!

this work?
My own stupidity here. These commands fail to work if one
improperly gives the list owner the same name as the list name.
Once this is corrected (and all relevant aliases corrected) it
does work.
