Thanks Pat for the help.....FYI, I was adding the following line using the
Rules tab:

B~name=".*\pvbs:NUL

That's why it was not working....but now it seems to be working....Just to
make sure, Pat, do we need to put " after \pvbs also or not??????

Once again thanks for the help.

TJ

attachments??????

Reply from: Pat Thompson

I'm using this rule in my rules.ima file and it works great:

B~name=".*\pvbs:quarantine

It dumps qualified mail traffic into the "quarantine" mailbox, which has a
text file called quarantine.fwd. The text file contains the address:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] This keeps the mail from simply being redirected
into a submailbox accessible to the end user.

If you're adding it through the rules tab, the syntax needs to change to:

name=".*\pvbs

With the "Body Text" and "Contains" options selected and the "Send to the
mailbox" set to "quarantine"

-PT

> Hello. I need your urgent help. I want to create a RULE to block all the
emails with "vbs" attachments. I have searched the Knowledge Base also, and
I found the document number IM-19990609-DM06. It does tells me about the
RULE, but when I add the same lines in my RULE, it does not work. I stopped
and then restarted the SMTP service also, but it did not helped.

I write this line in my RULE:
B~(name=".*\pvbs):NUL

Thanks
