Howdy all: I'm setting up an email account to be managed by three or four different people, at their own desktops. I figured on using IMAP so at least the sharing of emails is easier than forwarding all mail to all users or using POP clients and hoping no one checks the box "remove from server." Since the server will now be the repository for important files/emails, I am considering a nightly back up like Ipswitch's FTP synchronize utility (WS_FTP v6.05) which would sync the Imail working directories with another external server. The idea is a nightly sync of the directories in case of bad things happening... Anyone forsee any problem with sync-ing while an smtp daemon is alive? Are any of you performing nightly backups on your email servers? Or, how are you backing up, especially with users that are using your email server as a file storage facility?
