Nothing is misconfigured.
The problem is that in 4.x there were no web directories and these users
were used to going to my host name and then logging in using their complete
Email address (FQA), so some of them still do, but it does not function
correctly..
When they log in with a FQA, IWEBMSG.EXE corrrectly recognizes that they
have a Web subdirectory for their host and picks up the path to their
initial web page. Because they logged into my web pages, further processing
of their web page is handled incorrectly. When the browser trys to load the
buttons and images, the server is trying to load the buttons and images from
my web directory not theirs. This is confirmed by placing one of their
buttons in the correct relative directory within my host's Web directory. A
refresh displays that one button.
If you initially point your browser to their IP address/ host name,
everything works fine...
The issues you are discussing do not come into play.
If you would like to see the problem, I have a test machine set up that is
extermely clean, with only 4 host names. This machine is not an upgrade, but
a clean install of 6.05 with 6.06 patch. However, the problem is
demonstrable on our real machine or the test machine. Call me at

If your conditions are correct, #3 where each virtual domain has its own IP
address, the these users never had to use FQA (Fully Qualified Address) to
log in. All they needed to do was point to the correct IP for their domain
and use their userid and password. do you have any non-ip'd domains?
At this point, I would look at other settings if people are really getting
all their mail. First, take a look at the "top Directory" for each of these
virtual domains. The _must_ be unique so there isn't any overlap of users.
I have a feeling they aren't.
