Hi,
if you need to distribute the load of users on several imail Servers, for
reasons of redundancy or Fault tolerance, you have to do the following:
let all imail servers point to the SQL Server through odbc connectors with
different names. Use 1 or a clustered SQL Server if you need more
redundancy. YOu can also use an SAN or 1 dedicated file server to store the
mail files.
hope this helps, if you have any questions concerning the configuration,
please don't hesitate to mail me

Betreff: [IMail Forum] using multiple IMail servers for resiliance...
Apologies if this has been asked before (re-return to the list after a long
absence), but has any one had any experience of using multiple IMail servers
to provide redundancy in the event of a server failure. I suppose I'm
thinking along the lines of an SQL user database which more than one IMail
server can point to. The only obstacle is ensuring that both servers have
the identical user info at all times, and the implementation of load
balencing to share the load.
Any ideas people
TIA
Richard
