That's Microsoft's "What we do is the industry standard" philosophy. It ain't the
industry standard. A lot of the big guys are doing that now, but it's far from the
industry standard yet.

At least they are admitting to not offering full Internet access.
SMTP port filtering is a last resort for ISPs that are getting slammed with spam.
While it's a good thing they are doing something about it, most are unable to allow
their legitimate customers (99+% of their customers) to use the Internet uncensored.
What they really need to do is block port 25 by default, but give users a way around
it (perhaps with a call to tech support).
