Hello List -
I am the author of Mailing List With A Twist from last week. My solution
sounds similar to the one listed below. The biggest difference is that we
source all email addresses from a SQL2000 database, and the text file is not
attached to the email, but rather sent as the body.
To blatantly steal text from the post below, the solution was a programming
one.
Hope that helps.

This one caught me for a while. (Requirement was from advertising/marketing
department.)
You may need to do some work. What I did was put together an html form with
some backend cgi.
The form prompts for from, date & subject and allows upload of two files to
the mail server,
namely an addresses file and an (optional) attachment.
After uploading, a script on the server loops thru the addresses file and
sends out the messages formatted as I wish i.e. each individual message with
an individual To: nn
In itself this post might not be of much help to you - but might indicate to
you that
the solution was a programming one.
The user side operates quickly (just as long as the upload takes) but there
is a hit on the server
as it processes the attachments one by one. But it works.
If you have someone there who understands Perl/cgi then I'll mail you what I
can if it would help.
Anyone with a more elegant solution then I too would be glad to know.
