I'm having IMail use the ODBC connection to an external user database table
in MS SQL.
In the past, we did a project where we used this feature, but instead of
using a real table in SQL, we defined a View. This also worked on the
project I'm working on now. Users can log in fine.
However, if you try to save preferences via the web messaging interface, the
value does not get stored in the TYPE field as I expected.
If I use a real table instead of a view, it saves the value OK.
The view has select and update permissions set. I can set the column using
my own software via ODBC and it gets written all the way through to the
column that the view is based on. Its just that IMail can't set it.
Has anyone out there gotten this to work, how ?
Thanks.
