Bill, How do you have the System DSN set up... with NT user authentication, or SQL Server authentication? It should be the latter. And in your dsn configuration string in the IMail Admin console | domain | General tab | External Database, you should have something that looks like "datasourcename;UID=dbusername;PWD=password". Make sure you're not up against your SQL Server user license limit... IMail will take 1 seat, as will any client you've got connected to SQL, including the enterprise manager console on the SQL server itself. Also, you can temporarily turn on Tracing in the odbc control panel, so you can see from the sql tracing logs whether there are any db errors being returned. (You should definitely have Tracing OFF unless testing... it will fill up a C drive in nothing flat with the number of authentications transactions you'll get with that many users. That could affect performance, too.) Sorry if I'm pointing out the obvious, but I just want to make sure you've covered the basics.
