Hi Devteam,

Any rules file does work for one single specific (virtual) maildomain. If
you have several domains, you need one rules file for each domain. There are
samples to copy a "master" rules file to every (virtual) maildomain. See the
IPSwitch knowledge base for this (the link is in the footer of this mail).

All your rules will work FOR LOCAL RECIPIENTS ONLY. As soon as a mail is
addressed to a valid alias pointing to an external address, it will be
delivered to this recipient without being ruled out.

And, note that you must stop and restart the IMail SMTP service to activate
the rules.

I have the expressions that follow in the rules.ima file in the IMail
directory (and I removed the X's), but it didn't catch the latest email from
Dr. Bill Busch, which has the homepage virus. Any ideas why it didn't catch
it? Any suggestions as to what to change so that it does catch it?

B~filename=".*\.vXbXs":NUL
H~filename=".*\.vXbXs":NUL
B~filename=".*\.sXhXs":NUL
H~filename=".*\.sXhXs":NUL
S~filename=".*\.sXhXs":NUL
these all go to NUL or script kiddy heaven
**** Remove all of the X's on each line

This is a regular expression syntax.
