Hi,

That's my point! I've tried the "ignore source address" and it
doesn't work. I've made the change, I've stopped/re-started
WebMail, and I've even rebooted the several several times
just to be sure.

My opinion is that IPswitch BROKE the "ignore source address"
in Version 6.0X - at least that is the apparent result. Maybe
something else is causing it to fail, I don't know.

The only other difference in my configuration is I've locked
down the server tighter and am relaying ONLY for the local address
of othe server's own IP configuration and using SMTP AUTH for
all other sending - a tighter security setup than previously.

Folks - if you are using IMail 6.06 with all fixes and have
AOL WebMail working with "ignore source address",
that would be useful info (showing that perhaps something
else is the cause) so a quick note here confirming that is
welcome.
would be helpful too.

In IMail Administrator | localhost | Web Messaging Server enable this
option:
"Ignore source address in security check".
Stop and restart the Web Messaging service.

Subject: [IMail Forum] WebMail 6.06 not working with AOL

I've got some really angry customers that can't use WebMail
with AOL.

Background: we recently upgraded to IMail 6.06 after running version
5 for quite a while. Now, AOL users can't get in. Immediately
after entering their name and password, they are thrown right back
to the initial logon screen.

When this first happened two years ago, we checked the option
"ignore source address" in WebMessaging and that fixed it.

Now, with IMail 6.06, even after installing the latest cumulative
hotfix, it won't work.

I've tried all combinations of this setting, the pool threads, and
other settings to no avail so far. (Initial contact with Ipswitch
Tech support had me changing those settings.)

I now have my client's AOL login so I can test/verify myself. Until
now, I had to keep calling them on the phone as I didn't have AOL
here. (So now, at least testing possible fixes will be easier.)

The problem happens with both direct modem dial-up to AOL, or
using TCP/IP as the transport for AOL on top of either a regular
ISP dial-up or a LAN connection (DSL).

Does anyone know how to fix this? The IMail log says:

20010616 005550 AUTH LOGON [EMAIL PROTECTED] 152.163.206.182

20010616 005551 AUTH ERROR 152.163.188.67 0 - invalid ip for

20010616 005552 AUTH ERROR 152.163.188.6 0 - invalid ip for
