We also use WhatsUpGold from Ipswich, and we monitor not only that we can ping our Imail box, but that we can get to smtp, pop3 and http. When http fails, I have it send a message to a program alias that runs a batch file that restarts the web messaging service. I also never have to reboot the server, which is what a lot of people do - Len is right about only having to restart the services, and WM is the only "flaky" one. The rest are rock solid for the most part. I havent been paged about http being down for MONTHS... knock on wood... I hate my pager. Anyone want a free pager that goes off at all hours of the night because some stupid frame circuit is being worked on or my customer's router hiccups when they loose power? "Hi, this is <insert customer name> over at the <insert customer building name> complex and we have internet access thru you, and im here at work at 3:30 in the morning and I cant surf the internet..." ...Sorry for that rant :) Matt -----Original Message----- From: Len Conrad [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Tuesday, July 03, 2001 10:44 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] Hogs the cpu >The Imail web server 6.06 hogs the cpu (100%) > >I have W2k, 512 Mb, 1.5GB Virtual Memory, sql server 7.0 > >And all patch was installed. > >Helpmeeeeeeeeeee stop/start web messaging serviceeeeeeeeeeeeee Len http://MenAndMice.com/DNS-training http://BIND8NT.MEIway.com : ISC BIND 8.2.4 for NT4 & W2K http://IMGate.MEIway.com : Build free, hi-perf, anti-abuse mail gateways Please visit http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html to be removed from this list.
