I have had this pb but it was an obvious cause: several 100 msgs in my
mailbox.
There�s really no solution for that since iwebmail has to scan the entire
.mbx file to pull out the headers. That�s a lot sequential file reading if
you have a lot of simultaneous mail users. webmail encourages users to keep
fattish mailboxes, throw in a lot of attachment, bye bye access time.
This puts enormous pressure on the disk i/o.
Relief (and I avoid the word solution: there isn�t one) comes from
optimizing disk subsystem throughput by putting the mailbox disk on a
separate controller+disk from the imail queue and logging directory, as
I�ve said many times here.
