HI
If your user accounts are the same one the new server as the old one then i
would create alias on the new servers domain for the old one. then point the
mx record for the old domain to the new server.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Dumb Question about Virtual Hosts

Hi gang,

I'm a little confused by this one.

Okay, we used to have one company (we'll call company X). It's running
Imail 6.04 on an old licence. We formed a new company for our upgraded
ventures, etc, and it's now running Imail 7.02 (as I'm sure you've seen)
:). Now, Company X's mail server is still running Imail, but all it's
doing is forwarding people's emails to their new accounts at Company Y
(I didn't do this, it was before I got here!). Now, this is of course
inefficient. I want to add company X's domain name to the Company Y
mail server, and just forward the mail that way. Now, what's the best
way to do this? Add a virtual host with a new IP address on that
machine? Add a virtual host to the same IP address? (I tried this, and
almost lost all my config!)

Any assistance would be appreciated, of course. :) Thanks in advance!

-Rob.
