As long as the SMTP port is open and mapped to your Imail or Exchange server
you should be fine overall. There are some issues with some firewalls such
as the Cisco PIX where some e-mail servers have trouble sending to servers
behind firewalls for various reasons. As those issues are discovered the
software is updated to overcome those issues whether the firewall
manufacturer updates their OS or firmware for their firewall or not. I
believe the ISA firewall comes with Microsoft backoffice. Personally, I
would dump that firewall and use a firewall device like the Cisco PIX, Sonic
Wall, or another firewall device from a well know company who has a reliable
track record. Chances are, the ISA firewall is the problem.
