These are without a doubt, self inflicted problems. Email boxes were never
intended to replace traditional storage files on a server. 300MB and 1GB
mailboxes are abuse of your email application. Teach your users, whether
they be your boss, or paying clients the proper usage of email technology.
Huge mailboxes serve only to slow down service to everyone else using the
system, creating a denial of service to others with possibly slower
connections, among other problems that certainly can not be attributed to a
lack of ability of the email server application. Email servers are designed
around email technology and protocol; abusing them only creates undesirable
results.
