>Regarding anti-virus software, what about Symantec Norton Anti-Virus

Declude Virus does not make any attempt to clean/repair virus-ridden
attachments. The virus scanner used with Declude can't clean the
attachment either, since it doesn't understand MIME encoding (it is only
scanning a single attachment or MIME segment; it never has access to the
whole E-mail). The only way you will be able to have the virus-ridden
attachments cleaned/repaired is with a mail server virus scanner that
supports cleaning (translation: It costs Big Bucks for the convenience of
letting someone who opens viruses not have to clean their system and
re-send their E-mails).

Norton Anti-Virus alone won't be able to scan E-mails on the server without
Declude (except some/all Web Messaging attachments), because it doesn't
understand MIME encoding. We do not recommend using Norton with Declude,
as Norton is missing a command line scanner, which forces you to use their
on-access scanner (which hasn't yet been proven as reliable in an automated
environment).
