Try querying other LDAP servers, like some internet services (e.g.
ldap.bigfoot.com); does it hang when querying on other LDAP servers?
I'm not running OL2002, but in OL2000 after setting up the profile to use
Imail server's LDAP host name or FQDN, Outlook would crash on me when trying
to query the imail ldap server. I duplicated this on seperate machines; one
with Office SR-1 and the other with Office SP2. Bigyellow's LDAP worked
fine without crashing (using FDQN).
After fiddling around, I found that if I put the IP address in the "server
name" field of the profile and then RAN a query on imail's ldap server, OL
would NOT crash. Even after putting the host name back in the "server name"
field, OL would no longer crash. I confirmed this on the 2 machines above.
(when I first tried using the FQDN, OL would crash on a query, but after the
change to IP, query, then change back FQDN or hostname worked fine.)

I can confirm the LDAP problem with outlook 2002 - it hangs and maxes the
processor when you try to query it. If you hear about a fix, let me know.
I've forwarded a trouble report to MS (I'm also running WXP RC1).

But has anyone else run into the LDAP problem with iMail7 with Eudora or
Outlook 2002 yet?
