No experience with PornSweeper.
Info from mailsweeper.com:
"PORNsweeper directly addresses the threats associated with the circulation
of pornographic images between corporate networks. By integrating with
MAILsweeper for SMTP it analyzes the images in e-mail and e-mail attachments
to check for percentage of skin in the overall content."
I'm sure someone has figured out how to hide "skin" in their attachments.
If you don't want images going through your email, a couple simple
rules in IMail can take care of them.
MailSweeper is huge and complicated. I tried twice, with 2 different
versions, to get MailSweeper installed. I finally gave up and started
using Declude for virus scanning. We don't have any need for the
content scanning that MailSweeper provides.
It looks like it does provide some good content scanning though. Nice
if you don't want trade secrets being dispersed to the world. But then
again, this doesn't keep diskettes, CD's, printouts or tapes from
walking out the front door.
Just my $.02 worth,
Mike

Subject: [IMail Forum] OT - PornSweeper / MailSweeper
Anybody ever heard of PornSweeper or MailSweeper? (two seperate products)
My company HR director has asked me to look into it.
I thought I'd ask here if anybody knows anything about it.
