I have experienced the same problem with the netscape communicator 4.7
and netscape 6 mail clients. I have used the same two clients to
transfer the same messages that Imail chokes on to my ISP's BSDI IMAP
server, which works, so I'm convinced the problem is not OE, but Imail.

Just out of curiosity,

1. Does anyone have this problem with other IMAP clients? We are
beginning to explore other clients including Outlook 2000, Outlook 2002,
Eudora, Netscape Messenger, and others. What clients are others using in
general?

2. I read of a similar problem within OE itself and Microsoft suggests to
delete the .UID file and let it get rebuilt the next time the folder is
opened. IMail also uses a file structure similar to OE. What is the
.UID file and what does it do?

Thanks,
Alan

: Yes, this is a continuing problem for us too. Unfortunately I haven't
found
: the solution. I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone
: experiencing this problem. This seems to go along with other IMAP
issues
: that me and others are having with Imail 7. I hope Imail will spend
the
: time - soon - to address these IMAP problems.......

:
:
: I am running with the following environment and was wondering if anyone
else
: has seen these problems/situations and if you have what your solution
was.
:
: Imail server 7.03 on Windows 2000 Server (No 7.03 hot fix installed
yet)
: Workstations running Win98 SE with Outlook Express 5.5 configured with
IMAP
: client
:
: When one sends a message with OE, the message goes to the local Outbox
for
: processing and, if the opotion is selected, gets moved from the Outbox
to
: the IMAP Sent folder on the Imail server. That being said, I have some
: users who, after the message is sent out, are having the problem where
the
: message can not be moved to the IMAP Sent folder or any other IMAP
folder
: and eventually, OE pops up a message saying the IAMP failed to respond
: within 60 seconds, retry or stop.
:
: I can manually move this message from the local Outbox to any other
local
: folder just to get it out of the Outbox, but can not move it to any
IMAP
: folder.
:
: Any thoughts or ideas?????????
:
: Thank you,
:
: ~Alan
