Currently we are looking at this as an additional revenue source. As
far as we can tell the customers do not like the idea. We even thought
about doing just an info blurb, but that was not well received by our
customer base. We have pretty much abandoned it for now. We are going to
add it to the list server, since it is a free service. We will also offer
an ad free version for $15.00 per month for those who do not want ads to
appear in their list.
Additionally we have a Post Office server running for our free Email
service and we are looking to migrate that over to Imail and use banners
there. As a free server there is no problem with that.
It's all about the money, we would like to sell banner advertising on a
per presentation basis. The backend will require an ad server that can
count the presentations and provide us with a way to bill the advertisers
accordingly. The Db guys are looking into building this as well as a
weighting system so that we can also scale the percentage of the
presentations as an addition marketing feature. Sort of a tiered systems so
the sales guys can offer different levels of presentation at differing
rates.
