Nav for gateways does do notifications for you to sender, receiver, and
system administrator. It will also try to repair viruses in messages if
it can and delete or quarantine them if it can't. BUT we dumped it
because it was missing viruses such as Sircam apparently due to some
header problem in the message that Sircam sends and we adopted Declude
and have had no problems. We miss having the ability to clean the virus
and still deliver the message but not having to reassign the smtp port
and low costs for virus definition maint. has made it well worth it.

I use Omniquads MailWall for both SPAM and Virus protection. You just
have
to make sure that you do not have real time scanning enabled. Works
like a
charm. NAV for Gateways works well but does nothing for spam or
notification of virus' to the end user.
