FYI,
I've been stuck the last couple of days trying to
figure out how to use Microsoft Access for an external database. I
followed all the instructions, as vague as they may be, correctly and it still
does not create a table automatically in Access. After an email and phone
call to support we found the problem. The version of my ODBC
Microsoft Access System DSN drivers was not current enough. At version
#3.51.xxxx, we needed to upgrade to version #4.00.xxxx. The link for the
driver is http://www.microsoft.com/data/download)21242023.htm.
It is the MDAC 2.1.2.4202.3 (GA) file. I am running Windows NT 4.0 SP
6a.
Thanks to Susan in Support who helped me
out.
